This is the reputation that he has gained over the last few years and it has increasingly spread across the medical community. After investing many years in research and delivering numerous scientific papers Dr. Sterodimas is now ranked as one of the world’s leading physicians in the field of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In December 2014 at the World Congress of Plastic Surgery in Monaco he was awarded with the Golden Scalpel for his exceptional work and overall contribution to the evolution of surgical techniques. His techniques attract hundreds of patients from around the globe to visit his clinics located in Athens and Rio de Janeiro. Patients and celebrities alike from Europe, the Middle East and Asia entrust the gifted Greek doctor’s hands to restore their youthful appearance and remove the inevitable signs of aging. In his book ‘The role of adipose stem cells in plastic surgery’ the foreword is written by the internationally renowned Brazilian professor Ivo Pitanguy. At the official launch of the book in Paris, 2012, it was revealed that Dr. Sterodimas and his team had developed innovative procedures using liposuction of fat-enriched stem cells, and the transfer of these cells to another area of the body, such as face, breast or buttock to induce regeneration. The final aesthetic result was far superior when compared to traditional aesthetic surgical interventions. The role of stem cells in the field of antiaging and aging prevention was further developed by Dr Sterodima’s team and has attracted much attention from important personalities from around the world who are willing to invest in unique techniques in order to achieve their goal of eternal youthfulness.

Training in Rio De Janeiro
After his plastic surgery training in the United Kingdom, Dr. Aris Sterodimas went to Brazil where he joined the well-known professor, Ivo Pitanguy. It is still engraved in his memory the first operation he performed and the great impact that plastic surgery could have on a patient’s psychological wellbeing and quality of life. “I will never forget the first patient I operated in 2004 in Brazil: It was a girl that lived in the favelas. She told me that she was saving money for three years because she wanted so much to have a breast augmentation.
She was not concerned about her college studies, but first to have the operation.” Whilst in Brazil he met his wife Dr. Beatriz Nicaretta, a plastic surgeon herself. Together they shared a passion and love for medicine and plastic surgery. There was a big advantage that in the surgical room a man and a woman could co-ordinate and co-operate so well together. This Brazilian woman and Greek man completed a perfectly flawless aesthetic experience for the benefit of every patient. Thy regularly visit and perform many aesthetic surgical procedures in the clinic in Rio de Janeiro, near the famous beach of Copacabana.
The innovative method
In 1983, the procedure of ‘fat transfer or fat grafting’ was added to the list of surgical procedures performed by plastic surgeons. This is a procedure whereby the doctor removes fat from a specific body part that has too much fat storage e.g. the abdominal area and transferred to another part of the body; such as the face, breasts or thighs. With this method only 25% to 30% of fat transferred survives. In turn this means that for 100ml of fat that doctor removes, only 30ml survives and the rest is absorbed by the body within a month.
The finding encouraged the discovery of the technique Stromal Enriched Lipograft®, where the deprived fat is transformed to fat that is enriched with stem cells. This unique technique achieves a survival rate and maintenance of the fat transfer which reaches over the 90%. It is this discovery that a Greek team of plastic surgeons unveiled that influences the future of the most known worldwide aesthetical procedures.
The first patients were operated with absolute success using this method in Rio De Janeiro in 2006. ‘’At the same time when we perform a liposuction, there are highly trained members of our team in the operating room, that process that tissue, enrich the fat with stem cells with specialized state of the art medical equipment, and in one to one and a half hours it is ready to be injected either on the face, breasts, or thighs’’ this was mentioned by the accomplished Plastic surgeon Dr. Sterodimas during a recent interview on the CNN. Nowadays the Stromal Enriched Lipograft® technique is used for Breast enlargement, buttock augmentation, for volume restoration of the nasolabial folds, cheekbones, lips, and on the dorsum of the hand. With the Stromal Enriched Lipograft® technique in most of the cases, the patient has the advantage of avoiding foreign bodies being inserted surgically, like the silicone breast implants and the injectable fillers on the face.
Patient Profile The client list of the guru includes many famous celebrities from all over the world who entrust their appearance and beauty to Dr. Sterodimas team, carrying out innovative plastic surgery procedures, also in many cases, combining their recovery period with holidays to the cosmopolitan Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini. During 2018 the aesthetic plastic surgery procedures performed in the clinic were split 70% women and 30% male patients.
From analyzing the cases in the clinic, it was demonstrated that both females and males are really interested on their looks and overall appearance. The patients’ age range that come to Dr. Aris Sterodimas clinics is wide, interestingly, patients are between 17 to 82 years old. ‘’An 82-year-old from London had in one surgical operation, an abdominoplasty, liposuction, and a breast enlargement’’ said Dr. Aris Sterodimas in his interview with CNN.
As a formal guest at the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Hong Kong in November 2016, he is quoted: “there is statistically a higher rate of satisfied patients with the procedure performed by his team, in comparison to older techniques and this is because we achieve the desired result in one and only operation that has long term functional and aesthetical maintained outcome”.
In a recent speech given by Dr. Sterodimas to an International congress of Plastic Surgery in Dubai, he stated that the epitome of beauty consists of three fundamental characteristics: the analogy, the symmetry and the balance.
The key to a successful aesthetic operation is to avoid extreme changes, patients must be cautious with operations and procedures in order to optimize perfect aesthetic results.
