PREPARING YOUR TRIP
Our global VIP patients after their online consultation with Dr. Sterodimas, will be given the possible dates for surgery.
Once you decide when to receive the individualized surgical treatment by Dr. Sterodimas, the Global VIP staff will guide every step of your journey. You may think there is much to prepare for such as accommodation, transportation, and language translation, but in truth you need only to buy the airplane ticket and our Global VIP staff will guide you through the rest.
A Global VIP staff will be in contact with you via email and Whats app arranging your stay in one of all-suite boutique hotels close to the hospital.
You will be informed on you what you need to prepare and what to avoid prior to having surgery. You will stay in touch with us.
WELCOMING YOU
As we have reserved your airport pick-up service, our driver will greet you at the airport meet and greet area with your name tag.
From Athens International Airport to Metropolitan General hospital, it takes about 30 min through the Attiki Odos Highway.
Metropolitan general Hospital is located in the suburbs of Athens, only 20 min from the center of Athens.

CONSULTATION WITH DR. ARIS STERODIMAS
Dr. Sterodimas will welcome you and will take you through the details of the surgical procedure that you will undergo.
It is always great to prepare some questions or thoughts to discuss beforehand.
Tell your doctor about your main concern and desire.
Dr. Sterodimas will go over your past medical history and health condition and will discuss the shape and look you would like to achieve by the surgery.
Dr. Sterodimas will discuss with you what is possible and what is not possible to achieve and the potential
side effects and precautions after the surgery as well as the downtime and recovery phase.
GETTING READY FOR SURGERY
There are several examinations to perform before the surgery.
They include blood tests, imaging studies and EKG- all inclusive as part of the surgical cost.
The Anesthesiologist and the cardiologist will consult with you after the results of your preoperative exams are ready.
SURGERY
Dr. Aris Sterodimas will see you on the day of the surgery together with the anesthesiologist and their teams. You will have the chance to ask any questions to them before you are taken to the operating theatre.
Depending on the surgery, the anesthetist will discuss with you the type of anesthesia, sedation combined with local anesthetic, sedation with epidural anesthesia or general anesthesia.
A consent form about the surgical procedure as well as the possible complications, adverse effects that could possibly happen will be presented to you.
After reviewing the consent form, you will be asked If you have understood and consent in undergoing the proposed surgical procedure.
RECOVERY
From the beginning to the end of your surgery, Dr. Sterodimas and the anesthesiologist will stay with you. You will be taken to recovery room where you will stay for 30 min to 1 hour and then to your en suite private room.
Depending on your condition, you may stay at Metropolitan General for one or two days under the guidance of highly skilled private duty nurses who have worked for Dr. Sterodimas’ patients for many years.
The anesthetist will prescribe you a painkiller IV kit that will keep you pain free. In terms of meals, you may choose between Greek flavors and international cuisine.
A team of experienced dietitians plan the daily menus based on your dietary needs and preferences. All meals are prepared and cooked on site. You will be discharged to your hotel when Dr. Sterodimas and you are confident to do so.
After one or two day, you will be discharged to your hotel.
POST OPERATIVE CARE
A team of private nurses and physiotherapists will provide the absolute best in post-operative care and are in constant contact with Dr. Sterodimas. They will do their bests in order to have bruising and swelling resolved before returning to your home country.Dr. Sterodimas will see you in his office everyday and go over your condition.
During the dressing time, he will clean the surgical area for the highest sterility. Although it is rare, if there are any potential side effects, Dr. Sterodimas will inform you and address the problem If needed.
Post-operative period is extremely important for the final aesthetic result and all the recommendations need to be followed.
EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTIFULL GREECE
Depending on the time you will be required to stay in, your Global VIP staff will offer you different options to explore Greece. You may wish to visit and explore the culture of Athens, one of the oldest cities in the world, or take a boat cruise to explore the beautiful islands of Mykonos, Paros, Santorini.
READY FOR A NEW STAR- GOOD BYE
On your last day in Athens, Dr. Sterodimas after examining you, he will greet you and the driver will pick you up from the Metropolitan General and drop you off at the Athens International airport. The Global VIP staff will continue to be in contact with you via email and Whats app for the next 3 months.
